The Best Time of Year to Get Married in Tuscany

There's no single best month, only the one that fits your vision. Here's how the seasons really feel in Tuscany, and what each means for your day.

Late spring and early autumn: the classics

May to June and September to October bring the famous golden light, warm days around 22 to 28°C and cool, comfortable evenings, with the countryside either lush green or turning to harvest gold. They are also the busiest and most in demand, so the best venues and vendors are often booked a year or more ahead.

High summer

July and August are hot, often above 32°C at midday, so ceremonies move to late afternoon and dinners stretch into long, warm evenings. It can be magical, but worth knowing: mid-August is the Italian holiday period, when some suppliers and restaurants close, so it needs careful planning.

The quiet season

From late autumn to early spring Tuscany turns intimate and cinematic: mist over the hills, bare vineyards, firelit dinners indoors. Days are short and rain is possible, so you'll want a venue that's beautiful inside, but you'll gain better value, more availability and the rare sense of having the place to yourselves. Perfect for small, design-led celebrations.
